SIR JJ FORT BOY'S HIGH SCHOOL House system
The students of Sir J.J. Fort Boys’ High School are distributed into four houses: the Homi Bhabha House, the Pherozeshah Mehta House, the Dadabhai Naoroji House and the Jamsetjee Tata House, based on the names of illustrious Parsi gentlemen who have contributed immensely to India.
Various Inter-house competitions are organised during the academic year such as carrom, chess, elocution, recitation, drawing, rangoli, yoga, football, volley-ball, cricket, science quiz, computer quiz, essay, handwriting and other sports activities. Points are awarded to the houses based on their performance not only in co-curricular activities but also in the academics. These activities inculcate a sense of loyalty among members of a house, develop a desire to excel and contribute for one’s house and also fosters teamwork. Simultaneously, a spirit of healthy competition develops between houses. This leads to excellent academic and co-curricular performance of the students and raises the bar of the school.
