On 17th August 2024 .Rakhi making competition was organised by Junior Red Cross. Taha Shahapurwala and Sah Rishabh participated. Taha Shahapurwala won a consolation prize.

The Computer Exhibition for students of Std 5 to 9 was a dynamic showcase of the students’ creativity, technical skills, and understanding of advanced IT topics. The event was an opportunity for students to display their knowledge and for parents to see firsthand what their children are learning in school.  Topics included:-

The exhibition was attended by our Trustee – Mrs. Roxana Bhada, Director Education – Mrs. Kashmira Gundevia,  Principal of J.J Boys – Mrs. D’Mello, Principal of J.J. Girls – Ms. Abbas, the teachers of both the schools and even the parents. The exhibition was a true celebration of the students’ hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm for technology, leaving everyone inspired by their potential.

Mono
Acting
Competition
The Inter-house Mono Acting Competition was organized with the objective of developing the dramatic skills, communication, confidence, presentation and role play skills of the students. Students of Std.VII and VIII participated in the competition. The compering was done by It was presided over by the Principal – Mrs. Joan D’Mello. Mr. Ravi Yadav of Sett R.J.J. Primary School and Mrs. Shakila Shaikh of Sir J.J. Girls’ School were invited as the judges. The parameters for judging were presentation, subject, language style, acting, voice modulation, costumes and overall performance. The students performed on the stage with enthusiasm and joy and enthralled the audience. The results were as follows- First Prize – Arnav Dalvi Second Prize – Shlok Tiwari Third Prize – Atharva Dalvi The event was appreciated by the Principal and the Teachers.

Beach Clean Up Drive

19th Sept. 2024
16 Students of Std. 7 to 9 of Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School participated in a Cleanliness Drive organized by Junior Red Cross on 19th September 2024. The Cleanliness Drive was to clean up Girgaon Chowpatty beach from 8.15 am. to 10.30 am. Our teacher Mrs. Doris Fernandes accompanied the students. Honourable Chief Minister, Mr.Eknath Shinde inaugurated the cleanup drive . It was a first time hands-on experience for some of our students to go beyond the textbook and practically demonstrate their care for the environment. The boys picked up all the plastic waste, glass bottles and idols from the beach .They also pulled out plastic thrown into the sea during Ganpati immersion. The students enjoyed cleaning the beach.They were also given water and juice from time to time.The organizers provided the students with gloves and aprons. At the end of the clean-up drive students were given refreshments.

Inter house G. K. Quiz Competition
on 26th August 2024

The Inter House Quiz competition was conducted with the objective of evaluating the general knowledge of students,current affairs, reading skills and to develop a sense of confidence in them. Students from Std. VI to IX from each house participated. The Quiz consisted of 9 rounds namely Current Affairs,Science, Quiz time, Riding with the Riddles,Check your Vocabulary, News in Clues,Picture Round of Famous Personalities, Identify the Flags and the last most exciting round was Rapid Fire.

It was an exciting, fun and enjoyable Quiz Contest. The students had fun participating. It broadened their horizon and the audience too gained valuable knowledge. The programme was graced by our Director Education Mrs. Kashmira Gundevia, Principal Mrs. Joan D’Mello and Staff Members.

Independence
Day Celebration
Independence Day was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. National Flag was hoisted by the principal Mrs. Joan Dmello. A solemn speech by Kavsen Khan of 9th A paid homage to the brave martyrs of the country. A skit about Freedom fighters who laid their lives to fight against the British for India’s independence was presented by J. J Boys’ School to understand we live in democratic society today because of their sacrifices.Lezim folk dance was displayed by the students.Dancers did a special sequence where they formed a human pyramid with dance. The dancers produced jingling sounds while playing cymbals.

Yoga Day Celebration on 21st June 2024
Sir J. J. Fort Boys High School celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024 for classes 5th to 10th, with much fervour and enthusiasm. Students were engaged in contemplative position activities including pranayama breathing and om chanting. The students were guided by their P. T. teacher – Siddharth Sir to ensure proper posture.

Founder's Day cum Investiture Ceremony & Prize Distribution held on 15th July 2024

Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School elected their Student Council members for the academic year 2024-25 on 15th July i.e. the birth anniversary of Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy who was the founder of the school. He was the source of inspiration to the newly appointed Student Council to fulfill their duties and responsibilities with sincerity and dedication. Prize Distribution ceremony was also held to felicitate the toppers of SSC exam. Trustees, Director Education parents and teachers everyone attended the programme.

1st Prize in Inter school English Elocution Competition-Mst. Kartik Jangra Std. VI-B
Kartik Jangra from Std. 6A bagged the First Prize in Inter School English Elocution Competition organized by Junior Red Cross. The topic of the speech was Education – A Step Towards Employment. Kartik showcased his excellent oratory skills and impressed the judges. He was awarded with a cash prize and certificate.

M.R. Pai Elocution Competition
The 19th M.R.Pai Elocution Competition sponsored by the Forum of Free Enterprise was held in Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School school with the objective of developing public speaking skills among the students. The Forum organizes this competition in memory of the late Mr. Mangalore Ranga Pai, a well-known champion of public causes and consumer activist, who also authored several booklets and publications.

Field Trip Std. IX & X
Students of Std. IX and X visited Yusuf Meherally Centre for an educational trip on 21st November 2024. Students got an opportunity to witness pottery workshop, carpentry work, oil making, soap making etc. It was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment.

AB Ward Science Exhibition
Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School won overall runner-up trophy for the second consecutive time at the 52nd AB Ward Science Exhibition 2024-25 held on 11th & 12th December 2024 at Blossoms School, Churchgate. Our School bagged 1st Prize in Junior Project Category, 2nd Consolation Prize in Senior Project Category and 2nd Consolation Prize in Junior Teaching Aid Project.

Field Trip Std. V & VI
Students of Std. 5th & 6th enjoyed learning with fun in their educational trip to Nehru Planetarium at Worli and Discovery of India museum. They explored the amazing solar system, gained knowledge about the different planets and experienced the ‘sky theatre’. In the museum, the students saw many artefacts and beautiful paintings, pictures of freedom fighters, studied about evolution of mankind, read about famous monuments and temples.
