Field Trip Std VII & VIII

Students of Std. VII & VIII enjoyed an educational trip to Mahim Nature Park on 28th of November, 2024. Students watched a short film based on conservation of Nature. Later, they were taken to the different sections of Mahim Nature park like Butterfly Park, Vermicompost Section, Medicinal Plants section, Nursery etc.Students were explained about the trees and its uses.The students were also given a chance to ask questions.Then the students were taken to the nursery, where each saplings were sold for Rs 10. Some students purchased these saplings.

Field Trip of
Std. V & VI 2024

Students of Std. 5th & 6th enjoyed learning with fun in their educational trip to Nehru Planetarium at Worli and Discovery of India museum. They explored the amazing solar system, gained knowledge about the different planets and experienced the ‘sky theatre’. In the museum, the students saw many artefacts and beautiful paintings, pictures of freedom fighters, studied about evolution of mankind, read about famous monuments and temples.

3rd Prize in Inter School Judo Competition- Mst. Ajay Pal of Std.VI B

Mst. Ajal Pal from Std. 6B won the bronze medal at Inter School U/14 Judo Competition organized by Vibgyor High School at Airoli.

On 17th August 2024 .Rakhi making competition was organised by Junior Red Cross. Taha Shahapurwala and Sah Rishabh participated. Taha Shahapurwala won a consolation prize.

The exhibition was attended by our Trustee – Mrs. Roxana Bhada, Director Education – Mrs. Kashmira Gundevia, Principal of J.J Boys – Mrs. D’Mello, Principal of J.J. Girls – Ms. Abbas, the teachers of both the schools and even the parents. The exhibition was a true celebration of the students’ hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm for technology, leaving everyone inspired by their potential.

Competition

The Inter-house Mono Acting Competition was organized with the objective of developing the dramatic skills, communication, confidence, presentation and role play skills of the students. Students of Std.VII and VIII participated in the competition. The compering was done by It was presided over by the Principal – Mrs. Joan D’Mello. Mr. Ravi Yadav of Sett R.J.J. Primary School and Mrs. Shakila Shaikh of Sir J.J. Girls’ School were invited as the judges. The parameters for judging were presentation, subject, language style, acting, voice modulation, costumes and overall performance. The students performed on the stage with enthusiasm and joy and enthralled the audience. The results were as follows- First Prize – Arnav Dalvi Second Prize – Shlok Tiwari Third Prize – Atharva Dalvi The event was appreciated by the Principal and the Teachers.

Beach Clean Up Drive

19th Sept. 2024

16 Students of Std. 7 to 9 of Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School participated in a Cleanliness Drive organized by Junior Red Cross on 19th September 2024. The Cleanliness Drive was to clean up Girgaon Chowpatty beach from 8.15 am. to 10.30 am. Our teacher Mrs. Doris Fernandes accompanied the students. Honourable Chief Minister, Mr.Eknath Shinde inaugurated the cleanup drive . It was a first time hands-on experience for some of our students to go beyond the textbook and practically demonstrate their care for the environment. The boys picked up all the plastic waste, glass bottles and idols from the beach .They also pulled out plastic thrown into the sea during Ganpati immersion. The students enjoyed cleaning the beach.They were also given water and juice from time to time.The organizers provided the students with gloves and aprons. At the end of the clean-up drive students were given refreshments.

Inter house G. K. Quiz Competition
on 26th August 2024

The Inter House Quiz competition was conducted with the objective of evaluating the general knowledge of students,current affairs, reading skills and to develop a sense of confidence in them. Students from Std. VI to IX from each house participated. The Quiz consisted of 9 rounds namely Current Affairs,Science, Quiz time, Riding with the Riddles,Check your Vocabulary, News in Clues,Picture Round of Famous Personalities, Identify the Flags and the last most exciting round was Rapid Fire.

It was an exciting, fun and enjoyable Quiz Contest. The students had fun participating. It broadened their horizon and the audience too gained valuable knowledge. The programme was graced by our Director Education Mrs. Kashmira Gundevia, Principal Mrs. Joan D’Mello and Staff Members.

Independence
Day Celebration

Independence Day was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. National Flag was hoisted by the principal Mrs. Joan Dmello. A solemn speech by Kavsen Khan of 9th A paid homage to the brave martyrs of the country. A skit about Freedom fighters who laid their lives to fight against the British for India’s independence was presented by J. J Boys’ School to understand we live in democratic society today because of their sacrifices.Lezim folk dance was displayed by the students.Dancers did a special sequence where they formed a human pyramid with dance. The dancers produced jingling sounds while playing cymbals.

Yoga Day Celebration on 21st June 2024

Sir J. J. Fort Boys High School celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024 for classes 5th to 10th, with much fervour and enthusiasm. Students were engaged in contemplative position activities including pranayama breathing and om chanting. The students were guided by their P. T. teacher – Siddharth Sir to ensure proper posture.

Founder's Day cum Investiture Ceremony & Prize Distribution held on 15th July 2024

Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School elected their Student Council members for the academic year 2024-25 on 15th July i.e. the birth anniversary of Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy who was the founder of the school. He was the source of inspiration to the newly appointed Student Council to fulfill their duties and responsibilities with sincerity and dedication. Prize Distribution ceremony was also held to felicitate the toppers of SSC exam. Trustees, Director Education parents and teachers everyone attended the programme.

1st Prize in Inter school English Elocution Competition-Mst. Kartik Jangra Std. VI-B

Kartik Jangra from Std. 6A bagged the First Prize in Inter School English Elocution Competition organized by Junior Red Cross. The topic of the speech was Education – A Step Towards Employment. Kartik showcased his excellent oratory skills and impressed the judges. He was awarded with a cash prize and certificate.

M.R. Pai Elocution Competition

The 19th M.R.Pai Elocution Competition sponsored by the Forum of Free Enterprise was held in Sir J. J. Fort Boys’ High School school with the objective of developing public speaking skills among the students. The Forum organizes this competition in memory of the late Mr. Mangalore Ranga Pai, a well-known champion of public causes and consumer activist, who also authored several booklets and publications.

Students of Std. IX and X visited Yusuf Meherally Centre for an educational trip on 21st November 2024. Students got an opportunity to witness pottery workshop, carpentry work, oil making, soap making etc. It was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment.

Report on Hackathon Event Participation

The Hackathon event aimed to encourage students to devise technical solutions to real-life problems. Our school proudly participated in this event with two students from Std. VIII – Sanskar and Thanvarshan under the guidance of our Computer Teacher – Ms. Khushbu Darji. The team developed two innovative projects: Blind Stick and Smart Dustbin.

Marathi Divas Celebration

On 27th February 2025, Marathi Language Pride Day was celebrated at Sir J. J. Fort Boys High School. The program was organized by Mrs. Lata Sagvekar and Mrs. Seema Thorat.
Students of classes V, VI, VII and VIII participated in the programme. It started with a prayer. After that, the students presented speeches, songs, inspirational poems and humorous poems. The audience participated by answering the crossword puzzles and proverbs asked. The programme concluded with good memories and pride for our state language.

Outstanding Achievement

Rudra Chile from VIII A of Sir J.J. Boys’ School bagged the first prize in the Inter-School Drawing Competition organized by Baal Bhavan in November 2024. The results were declared and he was felicitated on 25th March, 2025. He was accompanied by his parents and received the trophy and cash prize from Padma Shri Achyut Palav Sir making us proud.

Computer Olympiad Winners

The Olympiad preparation sessions for classes 5, 6, and 7 were organized with the goal of equipping students with a strong foundation in theoretical concepts and enhancing their logical reasoning abilities. These sessions were meticulously planned to ensure holistic learning and prepare students for the Olympiad exams.

Inter School Competiton organized by BTTC College Colaba

Date: 27th February 2025 Kartik Jangra won the third prize in the poetry recitation category. His powerful and expressive performance left a lasting impression on both the judges and the audience. In Poster Making competition, Sah Sanskar and Chile Rudra participated in the (VI-VIII) category, showcasing their creativity and effort. Kadam Ninad and Shahapurwala Ilyas excelled in the (III-V) category, where they won the first prize for their exceptional poster designs.

Report on Inter-House Science Quiz Competiton

Inter House Science Quiz Competition was held on The National Science Day (28th Feb,2025) at our school and was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to showcase the practical application of their scientific knowledge. The results were as follows: Naoroji House secured first place in the competition. Mehta House was the runner up while Bhabha house secured 3rd place.

Cartoon Making Competition

On 30th November 2024, a Cartoon Making Competition was held at Marwari Vidyalaya High School, Charni Road. This creative event was organized by the Indian Red Cross Society – Junior/Youth Red Cross, aiming to promote artistic expression and creativity among school students.
In Group II, which included students from Standards V to VII, Udit G. Hodavdekar of Class VII B displayed exceptional artistic skills and creativity, earning him the First Prize.
Additionally, Pranit Surve and Amool Malagi, both also from Class VII B, were recognized for their efforts and were awarded Consolation Prizes.

In Group III, meant for students from Standards VIII to X, Rudra Chile of Class VIII A impressed the judges with his imaginative and well-executed cartoon, securing the First Prize in his category.
